A funky and warm-hearted deli in Cape Town. The cafe is styled in a long warehouse-style, decorated with vintage vinyl-topped tables, sofas from the Fifties covered with bits of cloth and cushions your grandmother might have knitted.

It's a great combination of contemporary and old-fashioned flair: A scrap metal model airplane hangs above the deli-like counter, and the small, open-plan kitchen.

Frieda's serve a selection of groovy breakfast plates and a few selected lunch items like scrumptious smoked salmon salad, Frieda's special burgers, warm chicken salad, and a vegetarian stir fry with noodles.

They make the fluffiest eggs in town, served on the darkest rye.

There is a laid-back atmosphere filled with collectables and a general spirit of friendliness and warm welcomes. Nothing fancy, no pretences, such a good way to fill a gap.
