Ferryman's Tavern was the first tenant to the V&A Waterfront, in 1989.
The two sheds constructed of quarried bluestone, Oregon beams and solid teak pillars were converted with great care to ensure that Ferryman's retained many of the features of the original buildings. The old fashioned bar, brick-paved floor and stone fireplace enhance the character of the establishment to create a superb pub atmosphere.
The upstairs non-smoking restaurant with its wooden tables and bentwood chairs add a touch of old fashioned charm.
The beer garden provides plenty of additional seating, and large awnings ensure that it is shady in summer and sheltered from the southeaster in spring.
The menu features a wide selection of grill, seafood and pub meals. There is also a "Daily Specials Board" that offers other South African dishes including fresh seafood meals.
