Sandi ... Anyone who uses the word 'delish' must surely be to lazy to write the word in full meaning that they are probably fat slobs who love to eat loads of oily food at every meal. I take it you're one of these fat slobs that walk amongst us!!

Went for dinner with a big group of friends last night. Had a great evening, awesome service and delish frozen margaritas and food! Was boiling hot inside, which was understandable because it was so hot yesterday but a few more fans wouldn't go amiss!

Ive always had a great time, never been disappointed. Thanks for always keeping it consistent

Had a superb stay in Cape Town Highlighted by 2 great nights at the fat cactus, Awesome relaxed vibe, lovely outside area to enjoy the sunshine and passing traffic, service was friendly and efficient. I would highly recommend the Iceberg ( Draught with a dash of Margarita )I will defiantly be back on my next visit to this wonderful city.

The food? Surprisingly bland nachos and wrap for a Mexican joint. And to my surprise, once again, crumbed mushrooms were not crumbed, but battered. Should have gone to the place next door after all. The service? Pre-1994 atmosphere. Manager/owner eyed me and my partner with suspicion the entire time from outside, even walking around with a video camera under the pretense he was videoing the place (trying to get shots of our faces, for what I do not know), we did not know which person was our waiter, because a different face was at our table every 5 seconds (onece again, checking up on us with suspicion), our last round of drinks were halfway when the waiter came and put a reserved sign on the table without informing us, and it meant that we had to leave within 5 minutes. We were treated like criminals, basically. If they want to make this place exclusive, there should be a bouncer at the door or a dress code or something to that effect. Will definitely not go back, and not recommend this place to anyone I know. The one star is actually the middle finger.

To be served by a sulky waitress is my personal pet hate, so I will definitely be addressing our service standard with the wait staff today, its inexcusable. Regarding our food and pricing I value your feedback. The enchilada never lost its sides, they obviously never made it to your table:( I apologise about that too. In terms of costing and mark up, I just checked and found the Chicken Enchilada, which you so correctly described, to be well within the normal to safe margin relative to industry norms. Our chicken is the most popular filling on the menu and is not made over spicy to make it accessible to customers. We can however, on order, spice it up for you at your request. I will propose a possible different presentation of the dish and see if we can add another tortilla with a possible filling combo option, to give some variety in terms of the flavours. Let us know if you would like to try a rerun! Thanks for the other compliments, it feels good to know we didn’t completely upset you and would love to change the ‘average’ idea you have about our food.

I agree with Debbie about the Fat Cactus - very average food at not-so-average prices. Food is rather bland and boring except for their fries Nice vibe, great frozen margaritas but we had a rather sulky waitress on the day.

Very average food at not-so-average prices. Always enjoyed Fat Cactus but, apart from the poppers, the food is mediocre and overpriced. R70 for an enchilada with no sides - essentially just a chicken wrap - is just too much. In fact, they've taken away the sides but still increased the prices. Moreover, none of the food is spicy - it's bland and boring, and I'm sure a far cry from anything authentically Mexican. Nice vibe, frozen margeritas, etc - but avoid mains and have a cocktail and some poppers.
