Took a new colleague (from Singapore) to this restaurant today. We drove from CT and it really was worth it. Since arrival we were treated like kings. Had excellent service, was welcomed by the hostess. The waiter was top notch - kept our glasses full without being in our way. We had a variety of food. It was good traditional food. There was chicken skins in the chicken pie, but that's part of the traditional way to cook it - we simply moved it to the side of our plates. We had amazing desserts. No complaints this side! We gave the waiter way more than 10 % tip and will definately return in the future!

So, having been invited to this restaurant for my birthday I was very upset with the service and the food. The waiter (who though he was american) kept calling one of our party 'Buddy', put his hand up in my face when I wanted to place my drinks order (thereby instructing me to wait). When we complained to the hostess, she was then so overly sweet it was condesending. The waiter then opened a bottle with his elbow in my face, kept leaning across others to put down the food, and when the food finally came, not only was there chicken skin and fat in the chicken pie, but bones in the stew and curry. We paid R60 for a slice of apple pie - A SLICE! And nothing special either, you'd think for R60 it would be coated in gold. Considering that we drove from CT to Stellenbosch and paid almost R1000 for the meal it certainly wasn't worth it.
