We celebrated our 5th Anniversay with a lunch at Cuvée on Saturday - and all I can say is that it was fantastic - from the welcome to the food and our waiter, Dirk who was brilliant. Such a great idea of having all courses inhalf portions - we tasted and shared lots of different dishes. The recommendations for both food and wine from Dirk were perfect and he made us feel so good with his excellent but unobtrusive manner. Well done to Cuvèe and we will be back soon.

I ate here many months ago and had the amazing lamb as main being served with roast potatoes and veg, what a fantastic meal. Great service, excellent wine selection and wonderful South African hospitality. It is clear to see the difference in product and service between a SA owned wine estate and a European owned one.

The special for the slow season promised: "guests can indulge in a two-course menu which includes a starter followed by a sublime main course paired with a glass of Simonsig's finest, for only R125 per person." Yes we booked a table of 10 in great anticipation! However, great was our disappointment that apparently the special is dinners ONLY PLUS you have to mention the special when you BOOK as it is a special menu. This is not included in the advertisment! Yes, we had a great meal. The meal cost us on average R200 per head for a shared starter, main and glass of wine. Seriously disappointing and the mis-advertising diverted our attention from a great meal. Thanks we had some pudding on the house...but at the end of the evening it still felt as if we where tricked.

Simonsig hits all the right notes with a sizzling collaboration of blue blooded red wines and rhythmic Blues, which will add a whole lot of soul to the Winelands during an exclusive wine and dine evening at the estate’s signature restaurant, Cuvée on Friday, 30 July.

During this ‘one night only’ R&B celebration, radiant red winemaker Debbie Thompson, past winner of the Women Winemaker of the Year will share her latest cellar gems during an intimate wine tasting experience, right there at the comfort of your own table.

The selected wines for the evening include Debbie’s multi-awarded Redhill Pinotage and the estate’s flagship Bordeaux-style red blend,Tiara. The wines will be complemented by a nostalgic three course menu that will take the senses back into history with Cuvée now embracing the revival of old fashioned charm with creative flair.

Stellenbosch Blues maestro Gerald Clark, better known as the red headed lead singer of Delta Blue, gets the toes tapping with a riveting, live performance straight from the banks of the Mississippi. Gerald even plucks the Blues strings in Afrikaans, with hits from his first Afrikaans Blues album, Sweepslag, also on the playlist for the evening. He will be joined by Schalk Joubert, one of SA’s top bass guitarists who recently launched his debut album Kayamandi.

Cuvée restaurant savours the spirit of friendship in a homely yet stylish atmosphere, glowing with fireplaces and creature comforts, which all add to the restaurant’s loyal following.

This special evening of ‘R&B’ costs R250 per head and includes a complimentary wine tasting of five Simonsig red wines, a three course dinner and live music.

Karibu "Karibu is one of my favourite restaurants to pop in for a dinner that never disappoints. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed with a distinct South African feel that's both elegant and upmarket. The service is friendly and efficient - I always rely on the manager (Bruce) for meal recommendations which thus far has been spot-on, yet I'm sure the menu as a whole is good......"
