What a gem, in these days of over the top outside the box mutton dressed as lamb restaurants, Cargills keeps it honest with top notch dishes, simply plated and served perfectly. A small menu with big choices indicates a chef who knows his stuff. I Had the Duck, delicious and stole some sole from my partners plate, equally good. The sinple yet quietly stylish interior showcases the food perfectlty and service was unobtrusively attentitive. We'll be back.

Had an excellent evening at Cargills last night. Service faultless and food superb. I was surprised at the size of the portions, had duck confit and was presented with two whole legs. All four of us very impressed and add this restaurant to our top 5 in Cape Town

Had an outstanding lunch at Cargills today. We were a party of 8 and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Elegant fine dining accompanied by friendly and efficient service. The desserts were works of art and were absolutely delicious. We'll definitely be back.

What a treat. Faultless food. Great service. Nice warm rolls on arrival, with lovely chicken liver pate. Faultless duck confit, better than most I have had in France. A pot au chocolate that was to die for. Yummy chocolate truffles with coffee. Delicious wine at R100 per bottle. Soft and appropriate background music. Absolute gem of a place. Wish there were more like it....Highly recommended.

Every time we go back to this restaurant, we ask ourselves what took us so long. We had yet another superb meal last night. The quality of the food and service is simply outstanding, and the ambience is cosy and friendly, yet still elegant. It is an absolute treat to eat there and enjoy their wonderful food.
