Camissa is the ancient Khoi name for Cape Town and means “The Place of Sweet Waters.”

The Camissa Brasserie at the Table Bay Hotel is a relaxed unpretentious restaurant with high-quality finishes, textures and fabrics.

The Captains Room, a secluded private-dining area at the end of the restaurant, is more lavish than the overall theme of the design. Draped curtains, a crystal decanter chandelier and a floor-to-ceiling ebony bookshelf add another layer to the design aesthetic.

The  Wine Room is adjacent to the restaurant area and is seen through a window from the Union Bar. A domed ceiling accentuates the arched shelving which displays the various wine bottles. An old wine tasting table with dark-green leather-covered stools provides an area for wine tastings.

The menu created by executive chef Jocelyn Myer-Adams invokes memories of the diverse cuisine brought to South Africa by early settlers.

Opening hours: Monday to Sunday: 11am - 11pm
