Warren Ying, the founder of Black Market Foods, is a qualified chef with over fifteen years of culinary experience having worked in top restaurants around the world, including Gordon Ramsay’s “Maze” in Cape Town and Jamie Oliver’s “Monte’s” in London.

Warren has been cooking professionally for 15 years. The majority of those years has been spent gaining experience as a chef overseas. He has worked in South Africa, America, and the United Kingdom as well as cruise ships and private yachts, recently achieving the position of head chef.

Through his travels Warren has been exposed to many different food cultures which led to the idea of Black Market Foods and his food trailer bringing street food to Cape Town.
