For an authentic taste of Cape Malay food, head to Biesmiellah's for samosas, potato half moons and chilli bites, followed by meat-in-spicy-sauce mains like lamb denningvleis or mild chicken kalya.

Since wine is traditionally taboo, accompany the spicy dishes with a glass of rose-flavoured falooda - a drink made of rose syrup with vermicelli and tapioca.

No alcohol is allowed in this halaal establishment.

Open:
Monday - Saturday 10:30 - 23:00

Bismillahs is a genuine food institution for the best of the cape. Food is authentic Malay, not watered down versions. The kalya and Breyani was the best Ive had in a long time. Atmosphere of the restuarant was enchanting ! It is in hub of Bo kaap.

We always eat at this restaurant when visiting Cape Town from PE. The food and service are fantastic. It is always made special by Sanna.

we had a wonderful dinner at Biesmiellah and - coming from Germany - the price for the food was incredibly cheap. I had a very tasty boboti and can highly recommend it. The service was very individual and super friendly. The interiour is a bit steril, but food and service were excellent.
