What an awesome evening! My boyfriend and I wanted good pizza and we were not dissapointed! Being Bardelli "virgins" - we were so impressed with this establishment!! The staff were so warm and friendly without being obtrusive. The menu is huge for the set up - but we quickly took our pick and we weren't dissapointed! - The pizza was tasty, crispy and made me want more, the pasta was creamy and delicious - I was so impressed - its the perfect place for a romantic dinner for two or for a fun family night out! will be back again and again!!!!!

I am frequently at Bardelli's and so I eat there often... I have always had good service, the staff are always friendly and helpful and they ensure we are happy! The food is amazing, the fresh thin base pizza is tasty, the toppings are always fantastic! they also offer a range of fruit juices which is great for someone like me who doesn't drink and bonus it compliments my meal! the creme brulee is also the best I've ever had!! Bardelli's gets my vote! :)

Hi I am so sorry to hear that your experiance was not up to our normal standard. When cooking steak the last few seconds really do count.I will certainly follow up on your feedback. We have worked really hard on the service aspect in the last two years and the evening was as busy as expected so there should be no good reason for this. Our regular kitchen staff were in.We have customers that come especially for our fillet so I would like it if you would return and we will make you a complimentry fillet. In general if we cant get a product 100% we take it off our menu until we can. I have your booking contact details and will contact you shortly. Thank you for your feedback,it is valuable to us. Warm regards Grant

VERY DISAPPOINTED

Unfortunately Bardelli’s was a bitter disappointment last Friday. After convincing friends to go to Bardelli’s instead of another restaurant, because the “food is great there”, I was made to eat my words. The service was debatable, having to pounce up and down to draw the waitress’ attention and the kitchen getting two out of three of our orders wrong, after more than 30 minutes of waiting. Although Bardelli’s in Kenilworth is apparently well known for its Fillet, I was served over cooked meat with a crispy burnt taste to accompany it – I requested medium rare. More than half way through the meal when someone decided to pay us some attention again to ask how the meal was, was a “replacement” offered. By this time I had already had half my meal, killing the taste of the fillet with as much as possible chilli and garlic – who would want a replacement when your companions were also nearly done with their dinner and the possibility of waiting an additional 30 minutes to have the rest of your dinner. The mentioned waiting period being one of the main reasons for not sending it back in the first place. What left a really burnt taste in my mouth was having to pay the full price for what I consider below standard, over cooked burnt fillet. Clearly the regular kitchen staff were not on duty, or were they? Should the customer pay the price for this? OR should you just stick to pizza and pasta at this little restaurant.

No Canneloni for me, but I have to say that the pizza is the best that I have had in Cape Town! Extremely generous with the toppings and a delicious crispy thin base. Service was top class, plenty of personal attention from a very friendly manager an waitress. Don't forget to book a table to enjoy the homely atmosphere inside.

Hi Frank To set the matter straight. The Canneloni is made by a gentleman who is so Italian he can hardly speak English. With all due respect what you are saying is that if you aren't English you dont know how to play Rugby or cricket for that matter.Just because something originated in Italy does not mean that someone else cant do it better. I have eaten some of the worst Italian fare in restaurants owned by Italians. I find your prejudice unfair. We know that we are the world Rugby champs and I would like to see your argument hold with the Australians. All the best with the soccer. Kind regards Grant.

I wasn't going to respond to this, but I feel I have to now. As I am Italian (born & bred in Milano & left 2 years ago) I think I am qualified in knowing how Italian food should look & taste. I disagree with Bardelli's manager - there are only 2 places in CT where I have found authentic pasta & they are both run by actual Italians. I think Capetonians need to realise they aren't getting the real deal in many places.

Karibu "Karibu is one of my favourite restaurants to pop in for a dinner that never disappoints. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed with a distinct South African feel that's both elegant and upmarket. The service is friendly and efficient - I always rely on the manager (Bruce) for meal recommendations which thus far has been spot-on, yet I'm sure the menu as a whole is good......"
