Our restaurant is set in a beautiful country garden where we serve lunch outdoors if the weather is favourable and indoors beside a roaring fire in the chilly months.
We have a varied à la carte menu, served from Monday to Saturday, that features traditional South African home-style meals, all made with fresh ingredients and our tried-and-trusted recipes. Our wine list offers all the Backsberg favourites as well as some special wines only available at the farm. Your kids will feel at home too, with a jungle gym in the garden and loads of space to play.
Our traditional lamb on the spit is available Sunday and selected other days. We can serve lamb on the spit during the week on special request. On the weekend the spit is served with a buffet of salads, veggies and Linda’s famous roast potatoes.
Every Sunday we have a three-course set menu priced at R225 per person which includes a selection of breads, starters, the Lamb on the Spit, a buffet of salads and warm vegetable, and a decadent assortment of desserts. Guy Feldman will also be there to provide live guitar music and set the scene for a long lazy afternoon in the wine lands.
Enjoy a tasty and mouth-watering Picnic Platter. Settle in the gardens on a pleasant day, at the restaurant by the open fire or wherever you feel like relaxing with a bottle of wine and a platter full of delicacies that abound to more than a hearty meal.
Booking is essential and picnics are made up for a minimum of two people.
