Banana Jam's Reviews

1 Amazing food, happy friendly waiters, great vibe. Best burgers and chilli poppers ever. I've even had the tuna and it was delicious too :) No Complaints!

2 I always have a great time at the Big Banana. Yummy cocktails, delicious food and sexy staff, who's to complain.

4 Wow...! I'm surpised at all the bad reviews... not my experience at all!(ok granted.. I am not a student) Have been a number of times in the past several years, and have always recived excellent service and the best food I have ever tasted! December 2007. Service was excellent, food was even better... I venture to say it was the best burger I have ever had! Drinks were fantastic! I will definitely go back! Well done guys, keep it up!

5 The last time I went to BJ I spent the entire evening throwing up in the flowerbed outside. I had tuna that was covered with a thick salty sauce that it was inedible (to disguise the smell?)Sent that back and got some shrimps - something made me v ill. Must say management was great - we didn't pay - not even for the wine but I will NEVER go back.

6 Have always loved the place, until January 2005 we went to BJ for a birthday, the service was appalling. They treat all guests as badly as they appear to treat the students!! I have since been back on several occassions in hope of being able to return as often as before, only to get the same poor service! Its all very well to be opening new "branches" but make sure there is someone responsible running the one that got you started!!

8 If you're after a relaxed vibe with a vaguely Jamaican feel and beach sand at your feet (in the suburbs!) then Banana Jam is the place for you. Fast, friendly service, tasty food and an atmosphere that will make you forget you live in the workaday world. What more could you ask for from a local bar? My only complaint was that the banana split (which I expected to be Banana Jam-tastic) was made with chocolate syrup, not real chocolate sauce. What would the Jamaicans say?

9 After reading previous reviews which were very negative, I decided to give this restaurant a chance and I am sad to say that it sucks! I called to book a table and I was promptly informed by the manager that students are not welcome and that we would be asked to leave if we made a noise.

The joke is, I didn't say anything about being a student, all I was inquiring about was booking a table! Plus, I'm not even a students! I think the manager is extremely rude and not very friendly. PLEASE consider visiting another restaurant before spending your money at a place like this. And a note to the manager: Students are the bulk of your "happy hour" customers so best you be treating them like everyone else or just cancel it!
