My boyfriend and I had a dinner at M&B Cresta and it was wonderful, we were greeted at the door and seated immediately. The waiter and manager were on the ball, the food was outstanding and we will definitely be back, well done guys, keep it up!

I went with my family to Mugg and Bean Clearwater, and i was disgusted by the service and the Food. The waiter firstly came and took our orders, then after about 5-10 minutes a new waiter came and asked our drinks order. He then returned with my wife and my order, but without my son's order, he also didn't bring the extra toast my wife ordered. After waiting more than 10 minutes and complaining to the manager, my sons meal came, but still no toast. When my wife's toast came it was cold and hard. She was frustrated and called the manager. We told him how dissappointed we were and asked for the bill. Besides all the crap service and the fact that she had hardly touched her meal, they still charged us full price and didn't even aplogize.

The thing that really interests me about all the other reviews for Mugg & Bean reveal third rate food, third rate service, third rate management - and still the public fill the seats! I get a better salad at Thrupps for half the price - and give M&B a miss - so should you.

Mugg & Bean at the Liberty Mall: Paid over R50 for a salad that consisted of 8 roasted baby tomatoes, three slices of mozzarella cheese three onion rings and a whole head of lettuce! That's not value for money!! Seems that other people feel the same regarding a value for money meal.

Mugg n Bean at Kilarney mall. I really don't like the new menu. They charged me R63 for an open sandwich with very little salmon on and cream cheese and mostly comprised of sticks of cucumber. This sandwich wasn't even a slice of bread. Mugg n Bean just lost a customer.

We had a friendly waitress, but all food seemed like yesterday's leftovers, the hollandaise sauce was the worst I've ever had the misfortune to experience.
We still tipped the waitress pretty well, coz we actually felt sorry that she had to explain all the kitchen's mishaps.

M&B Greenacers in PE has just renovated the shop and it looks great, but the food is terrible. If it was only mine I'd understand, but my wife's food was just as bad. I always liked M&B, but now I'll never go there again.

M&B Hermanus. Rubbish service with a quarter filled restaurant. We had to wait and hour for the food and when we said we would just like the bill the waiter turned around and said the kitchen is busy and we should just wait. He rocked up 10 minutes later with the food and we said we want to leave and once again a very arrogant reply: I would have to pay for it if you don't take it. We walked out. Shocking service. No comment on food as we never got to eat it. Cold coffee and bland milkshakes! Just don't go there. Go somewhere else and you will have a 'whale' of a time.

Ballito. Portion sizes way smaller than before. Coffee weak (is M&B trying to save money by cutting corners on quantity and quality?) Unfriendly and absent management. I won't be back. There are many other good restaurants in the same centre.

Durbanville.
Went for a quick brunch on Saturday morning and was met with friendly staff. Had a totally delicious wrap that was completely fresh and wonderful which was also accompanied with a fresh side salad. Well done - have always had a great meal in Durbanville.

I will always love M&B in Woodbridge, the service is always outstanding, the waiters are always friendly, the food is always excellent. Keep up the good work, you are the best around here...

M & B Vincent Park East London has declined drastically. The service was shocking and the manager's attitude even worse. The drinks were wrong, the steak was dry and paper thin and the bacon and brie wraps looked like two boiled eggs on my plate and were just as hard as boiled eggs - will never go there again!

Mug & Bean Sun Coast is a no no for me. My husband decided to take my daughter and I out for breakfast on Saturday morning. I must admit that I'm not a M&B fan firstly, but we tired of eating Wimpy's breakfast so I thought lets try. Well to my disappointment the service was shocking, I think the people sitting on the table next to us were the waiter's friends, and he seemed to pay far more attention to them. My husband and daughter had a breakfast dish, while I had my favourite smoked salmon, which was ok, well you can't really go wrong with it. My husband said he has never eaten such bland food in his life! My daughter loves bacon, and it was the first time ever where there was bacon on her plate and she refused to eat it. She's 5 and all she kept saying was that the bacon was yukkie! I could have rather taken the R150 that we paid and had a good meal elsewhere! I'll never eat there again.

Mug & Bean Canal Walk. I once again bowed to pressure and put myself and family through the pain of eating at M&B Canal Walk yesterday (Sun 27/07/08)
The service was pathetic, coffee served cold and ran out. This is probably the fifth time we have eaten at this branch and it was bad. I will not frequent a Mug & Bean again. I assume looking at reviews below M&B franchisees don't care.

M & B Capegate is definitely one of the worst branches. Coffee is always cold and the service poor. They should teach their waiters to be friendlier. They kept on serving my bottomless coffee in a dirty cup. I had to ask them for a clean cup. Been there 3 times and left disappointed every time!

Mugg & Bean Vangate, Waterfont. The food is not the same. The service is bad; you also don?t understand a word the waiters are trying to tell you about the menu.
They used to be great but I feel if your waiters are bad then you don't want to go back.

On Sunday 30 June 2008 we decided to go for breakfast at Mugg & Bean Canal Walk. Terrible service, our drinks (orange juice and ice tea) were warm and the food was late. People arriving 20 mins after us were served before us. Problem is that it's not just this branch seems like service and quality at all Western Cape Mugg & Beans are going backwards fast.

Mugg & Bean Somerset Mall. We have eaten there several times and every time we would get sand on the salad. I completed a form which was on the table about other complaints, but have had no response.

Mugg & Bean in general is just excellent!!
My fiance & I are really fussy about where we eat as we quite health conscious, however M & B has become a favourite of ours, even if its just for a cuppa or a meal. And the bonus is that they child friendly, so my 8 year old son loves it to.
Well done, and the service is always good.

M&B Irene - We ordered nachos, which came with a dollop of frothy cappuccino cream instead of sour cream. Incredulous, I called the waitress over. She explained that they were out of sour cream, but that I could use the lemon slice to make the cream sour. The manager came over to apologise, at least. We cancelled the order, finished our (awfully weak) coffee and left.

Long Beach Mall outlet must be worst in the country. We have only had poor service. Thought we would try it again last week after having boycotted them for six months. Big mistake.

Mugg and Bean Cresta really is the best in the franchise in the Gauteng region. The staff are well trained, friendly and always on the ball, and the managers are also always about. We had the most dreadful experiences at the Sandton branch and the Gateway branch in Durban; the Cresta branch outshines the lot!

The Mugg and Bean in Cresta, the service is exceptional and the food lovely. I hate Mugg and Bean and this one salvaged the brand. The Manager is always on the ball, consistently pushing the staff and checking on patrons. The food is prepared to perfection and any complaint is not taken lightly! Thank you Mugg and Bean Cresta for showing me that it is not all bad. I will not support the one in Sandton. Don?t eat there.

Mugg & Bean Canal Walk. After receiving the incorrect food and waiting over an hour for my breakfast, I had to go into the kitchen and watching the manager take a sip of his coffee (still didn't get mine yet) I had to threaten him that should he charge me for my meal, all hell would break loose.
I eventually got my breakfast, just as I got up to leave. Don?t support Mugg & Bean Canal Walk.

Mugg & Bean, Canal Walk. Disgusting service. After asking if I could have the salad without tomato, the Manager told me that "The reason we have a menu is so that you can choose from it".
After written complaint to that store and the Mugg & Bean head office I had no response whatsoever. So now I make it my personal responsibility to tell as many people as possible how bad the Canal Walk Mugg & Bean is. Family and friends now do not set foot in that restaurant again. What a shame - if only they'd taken the time to respond to me, they could have changed this response to a far less negative one. Don?t support Mugg & Bean Canal Walk, they don't deserve the business.

M&B Centurion Mall. Disappointing. Poor service. Flimsy chairs.
We went for cake and coffee on a Sunday. There were only three cakes to choose from. We waited more than 10 minutes for the waiter to take our order. And then even longer to receive our petite pieces of cake. What happened to the Mugg & Beans where you had a variety? Where the pieces of cake was too big for one person to finish? I'm not eating there again.

I took my girlfriend out for breakfast to Mugg & Bean at the Paddocks Milnerton. To say that the service is bad would be an understatement we had to wait over 30 minutes for our order and even then it was wrong and the food was cold. I will never set foot in a Mugg & Bean restaurant again and was not even offered an apology for this poor service.

A rainy and very hectic Mother's Day breakfast experience at the Waterfront Branch was magnificent. They allowed us to make a reservation and the service by our waitress Ntombi (I hope this was her name) was awesome. At 09h00 the morning - our table was waited on with so much professionalism - the food was of top standard and there was nothing too much for anyone ? Thank you for making my Mother's Day special.
