Cynthia's Indigo Moon's Reviews

To all the romantics out there - this is just the place for you! The menu caters for a variety of tastes. Everything was fresh, beautifully prepared and served. The service was unobtrusive and quick. I can't wait to return! Keep up the great work!

Visited 8 May 2008. Ordered starters and mains at the same time. One and a half hours after starters were served the wrong main courses arrived. Manager (that took the order) acted as if he couldn't understand what the problem was. Thoroughly disappointed at pathetic ignorance of the manager. Will definitely never waste my time there again waiting on food that will never arrive. Shocking.

Ah Cynthia! You are not cheap. Not cheap at all. But you always deliver a mouthwatering surprise. And you did it again. If red meat is your thing, Cynthia's always delivers it perfectly. Had some of the best pork ribs ever. It was the sort of ribs that needed little convincing to surrender its meat and then it simply drizzled with taste as it dissapeared in my mouth. Good vegetables as well.

Absolutely beautiful. We booked a private room here for my Dad's 60th birthday, and it was such an amazing night. It was personal as it would have been at home. We brought our own music along even!!! The food was just amazing, this is a definite must for anyone who enjoys having dinner in style!

I have a big problem with most restaurants which is: The description on the menu and the food you actually get - two different things. He had steak which he ordered rare but it was medium. I had the duck l'orange which was completely dried out (and who serves duck with potatoes and bacon, if they just served potatoes it would have been fine, but why bacon? This is why I call it a glorified Spur they always ad lots of cream or bacon -always over the top) We just feel for a R650,00 bill we could have done a lot better. I just wish some of these places will call themselves a Steakhouse, bistro and you really have to earn it to be proper restaurant. This is nothing more than a glorified Spur!! We ate their on Monday today is Thursday and I am still chewing on that duck!

This restaurant will end up on your favourite's list after the first visit. Situated just off a busy sreet in Brooklyn, Pretoria, this retaurant meets the most important requirements of a restuarant; consistency, good service and quality food. Be sure to book, because on the occasions that I have been there, it has always been full.

Part 4 : Cynthia's has been there from the beginning of a promise, been part of a new beginning and will be there 2 hold dear when I have my story retold. We visit Cynthia's annually & know it is special but pray u'll try it 2 share in our story. Cynthia's is not just the service they promise, but the place where memories can not be borrowed. Each visit is unique & every mouth full, a smile but one things 4 certain u couldn't have asked 4 more.

Part 3: The Service was impeccable & I felt like a 'queen' but most of all the restaurant staff & management made a simple old me create a memory I will cherish forever. The food was divine & the menu was comprehensive but most of all the dessert was to die four. Years went by & we married & our 1st anniversary (paper aniversary) called for something memorable & my husband approached the restaurant to ask if he could perhaps purchase their menu & to his surprise, he was remembered & the management gave him a momento we would hold dear to us.. He gave him the menu & wished him well with no obligation. I will hold dear the memory & gift & know always that Cynthia's would always be a part of my life.

Part 2 : A table reserved in the far corner of the landing set out with utmost care. On our table in particular was a vase of Tulips (my favourite flowers on request from my man). We were greeted like VIP's & escorted to our table where we were left alone. The staff kept a watchful eye & waited to see the excitement on our faces & when I said yes & accepted the ring they approached our table with Champagne & warm wishes.

Part 1 : Classy, Stylish, Elegant, Intimate.. Cynthia's Indigo Moon has the ambience & setting four romantic candle lit dinners & the setting 4 an evening of glamour. My husband (then boyfriend) was excited & anxious to ask me to spend the rest of his life with him & after an extensive search for just the right setting, he stumbled upon Cynthia's. It was perfect & to crown it all the staff & management were willing to help him make it a night to remember.
