Winter pears with currants and spiced red wine

Ingredients (13)

4.00 pears — peeled, halved
1.00 large cooking bag
60.00 ml brown sugar
15.00 ml butter
2.00 cloves
1.00 cinnamon — stick
125.00 ml currants
3.00 orange — peel only
125.00 ml wine — red
250.00 ml yoghurt — natural
60.00 ml cream
15.00 ml honey
15.00 ml orange liqueur

Method:

Layer pears in cooking bag.
Sprinkle each layer with brown sugar and dot with butter. Top with cloves, cinnamon stick, currants, orange peel and wine and close bag.
Using a skewer, prick a few holes in top of bag to allow steam to escape.
Bake at 180 ºC for about 1 hour, depending on ripeness of pears.
Remove and cool before opening bag carefully. Spoon pears into a bowl and pour juices over.
Serve at room temperature with remaining ingredients whisked together.
