Ingredients

  • 200
    g
    sugar
  • 375
    ml
    water
  • 15
    ml
    ground cinnamon
  • 15
    ml
    butter
  • 5
    ml
    cornflour
  • 125
    ml
    sweet wine
  • 30
    ml
    brandy
 

Method

+/- 20 min
 
Mix the sugar, water and cinnamon together and heat slowly. Stir until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture comes to the boil. Boil for 10 to 15 minutes. Stir in the butter and the cornflour blended with a little water. Heat until the sauce comes to the boil, stirring continuously. Remove from the heat and add the sweet wine and brandy. Serve with steamed pudding.
