    g
    bacon
  • 25
    ml
    oil
  • 2
    onions, chopped
  • 250
    g
    fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 750
    ml
    cooked pearl wheat
  • 125
    ml
    chicken stock
  • 50
    ml
    raisins (optional)
  • salt
  • pepper
 

Method

 
Fry bacon until crisp and chop. Add oil to the bacon fat and sauté onion until soft. Add mushrooms and sauté until cooked. Return the bacon to the pan with the pearl wheat, chicken stock and raisins. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Simmer until most of the chicken stock has been absorbed and the dish is heated through. Serve hot. Serves 6.
