Ingredients (13)

SALAD
1.00 onion — small, sliced
250.00 g pasta — shapes
30.00 ml french salad dressing
sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
2.00 celery stalks — sliced
2.00 apples — red, cored and thinly sliced
1.00 lemon — juice only
80.00 ml raisins — seedless
50.00 g walnuts — coarsely chopped
SALAD DRESSING
45.00 ml mayonnaise
45.00 ml cream
milk — little
1.00 lettuce

Method:

Soak the onion slices in water for 30 minutes to remove the sharpness. Meanwhile cook the pasta until done and drain. Pour over the French salad dressing and season generously with salt and pepper. Leave to cool completely. Mix the rest of the ingredients with the cold pasta. Whisk together the salad dressing ingredients and dilute with a little milk if necessary. Mix everything together and chill slightly. Arrange the lettuce leaves in a bowl, add the salad ingredients and garnish with lettuce leaves.
Serves 4-6.
