Waffles with marmalade syrup

    mascarpone cheese
  • 5
    ml
    ground cinnamon (optional)
  • thinly sliced orange peel
  • SAUCE
  • 125
    ml
    orange, lemon or kumquat marmalade
  • 1
    lemon, juice
  • 15
    ml
    brandy
 

Method

 
SAUCE: Place marmalade in a small saucepan and heat over low heat until liquid. Add lemon juice and brandy and stir to blend. Meanwhile, heat or toast waffles and place on serving plates. TOPPING: Mix mascarpone cheese with ground cinnamon, if using. Spoon cheese mixture onto waffles and drizzle marmalade syrup over. Decorate with orange peel and serve immediately.
