Vegetables kebabs with wine sauce

    frozen cauliflower florets, slightly defrosted

    frozen baby carrots, slightly defrosted
  • 20
    pickling onions, halved, or large onions, quartered
  • 10
    rashers bacon (rind removed), halved
  • 500

    frozen potato chips
  • SAUCE
  • 60
    g
    white onion soup powder
  • 250
    ml
    water
  • 30
    ml
    mayonnaise
  • 30
    ml
    chutney
  • 125
    ml
    melted margarine
  • 125
    ml
    white wine
 

Method

 
Preheat the oven to 180 ºC (350 ºF). Grease an ovenproof dish. Fold the bacon pieces and thread with the frozen vegetables onto 10 kebab skewers. Arrange in the prepared dish. Surround the kebabs with the frozen potato chips. Blend all the ingredients for the sauce and pour over the kebabs and potato chips. Cover and bake for about 1 hour until the vegetables and bacon are done. Baste the kebabs frequently with the sauce. Remove the lid about 15 minutes before the end of the baking time to allow the dish to brown. Serves 4-6.
