These delicious little Christmas trees can be used as decorations.

Ingredients (9)

200.00 g butter — unsalted
100.00 g icing sugar
2.00 eggs — just the yolks
5.00 ml vanilla — essence
250.00 g flour — cake
edible decorative balls — silver
gift tin and greaseproof or tissue paper
Frosting:
250.00 ml icing sugar
60.00 ml lemon juice

Method:

Beat butter, icing sugar and egg yolks until thick and creamy, then beat in vanilla essence and flour.
Wrap dough in cling film and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 160ºC.
Roll out dough to 5 mm thick on a floured board and cut out with tree-shaped biscuit cutter.
Place on a lightly greased baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden.
Remove and cool on a wire rack.

Frosting:

Mix icing sugar and lemon juice and use to ice trees.
Decorate with silver balls, chocolate, sprinkles and flaked almonds.
Line tin with greaseproof or tissue paper and pack in biscuits.

Makes about 30 biscuits.
