Ingredients (9)

115.00 g butter
115.00 g sugar
115.00 g glacé cherries — chopped
225.00 g sultanas
225.00 g dates — finely chopped
225.00 g almonds — and pecan nuts, toasted
3.00 ml cocoa powder
1.00 eggs
1.00 Marie biscuits — or cream crackers, crushed

Method:

Place the butter and sugar in a saucepan and bring to the boil, then remove from the heat. Stir in the cherries, sultanas, dates, nuts and cocoa. Then add the egg and the biscuit pieces and mix until well combined.

Grease a loaf tin and fill with the mixture, pressing it fi rmly into the tin to ensure that it sticks together. Refrigerate overnight, then remove the
fruitcake from the tin and cut into slices. Store in an airtight container.
