    milk
  • 200
    g
    butter
  • 125
    ml
    castor sugar
  • 125
    ml
    cocoa powder
  • 200
    ml
    oats
  • 300
    g
    digestive biscuits, crushed
  • 40
    ml
    rum essence
  • melted chocolate
 

Method

Heat the milk, butter, castor sugar and cocoa over low heat until the castor sugar has dissolved. Stir occasionally. Bring to the boil and simmer for 5 minutes. Add the oats and simmer for about 3 minutes until thick and cooked. Cool until lukewarm, then stir in the biscuit crumbs and rum essence. Cool to room temperature, roll into balls and place in the fridge to firm. Drizzle with melted chocolate or dip into the melted chocolate and chill until needed. Makes 50 truffles.
