Tongue in mustard sauce

    cooked ox tongue, sliced
  • 30
    ml
    prepared mustard
  • 125
    ml
    sugar
  • 30
    ml
    oil
  • 30
    ml
    cake flour
  • 250
    ml
    boiling water
  • 250
    ml
    mayonnaise
  • 125
    ml
    white grape vinegar
  • breadcrumbs for sprinkling on top
 

Method

 
Preheat the oven to 180 ºC (350 ºF). Arrange the tongue slices in an ovenproof dish. Blend the mustard, sugar, oil and cake flour and pour over the boiling water. Stir until well blended and add the mayonnaise and vinegar. Pour over the tongue, sprinkle with breadcrumbs if desired and bake for 30 minutes. Serve hot. Serves 4.
