Tomato and mushroom sauce

    small onion, finely chopped
  • 3
    cloves garlic, crushed
  • oil
  • 100

    fresh button mushrooms, halved
  • 410

    tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 50
    ml
    red wine
  • 20
    ml
    brown sugar
  • 10
    ml
    basil
  • 2
    ml
    paprika
  • salt and pepper
 

Method

 
Sauté the onion and garlic in a little heated oil until soft. Add the mushrooms and brown lightly. Add the remaining ingredients and simmer until a nice thick sauce is formed. Serve with the roast leg of lamb with marinade (see recipe).
