Ingredients (11)

1.00 garlic — large cloves, halved
400.00 ml wine — dry white
5.00 ml lemon juice
350.00 g gruyère cheese — grated
350.00 g emmental cheese — grated
15.00 ml cornflour
30.00 ml kirsch
salt
black pepper — freshly ground
nutmeg — grated
bread — French loaf, chunks

Method:

Rub sides and base of fondue pot with garlic. Pour in wine and lemon juice and heat on stove until mixture simmers. Turn heat down low and add the cheese – a handful at a time – stirring constantly, until melted. Blend cornflour and Kirsch in a small bowl and add to the fondue pot. Season and add nutmeg. Transfer to fondue burner at the table. Serve with chunks of bread and a large green salad.
Serves 4-6.
