    kg
    sweet potatoes, peeled and thickly sliced
  • 90
    g
    butter
  • 200
    g
    yellow sugar
  • pinch salt
  • 1
    whole cinnamon stick
 

Method

 
Layer the sweet potato, butter and sugar in a saucepan and add the salt and cinnamon stick. Simmer over a slow heat until the sweet potatoes are soft and done. Shake the saucepan every now and then to prevent the sweet potato from sticking to the bottom. Transfer the sweet potato and the syrup to a serving dish. Serves 6-8.
