Sweet-chilli tacos

Ingredients

    ml
    oil
  • 1
    large onion, sliced
  • 3
    chillies, chopped
  • 5
    ml
    hot English mustard
  • 1
    x 400 g can chopped tomatoes with basil
  • 30
    ml
    soft brown sugar
  • 250
    g
    ham or cold beef, sliced
  • 8
    readymade taco shells
  • salad ingredients of your choice
  • 300
    ml
    grated Cheddar cheese
 

Method

15 minutes
 
Heat the oil in a saucepan and sauté the onions until golden.
Add the chillies, mustard, tomatoes and sugar.
Simmer for 10 minutes or until reduced. Stir in the ham or beef.
Serve with tacos with salad ingredients and topped with grated cheese.

VARIATION
Spoon the sauce over nachos and serve as snacks, or add 250 g cooked streaky bacon pieces to the sauce mixture for a sweet chilli, tomato and bacon sauce for pasta.
