  • 500
    ml
    white grape vinegar
  • 625
    ml
    sugar
  • 5
    ml
    salt
  • 4
    large onions, finely chopped
  • 15
    ml
    curry powder
  • 5
    ml
    masala powder
  • 5
    ml
    turmeric
  • 2
    kg
    sultana grapes
  • 25
    ml
    cornflour
 

Method

 
Heat the vinegar, sugar and salt together and bring to the boil. Add the onions and boil for 15 minutes. Add the curry, masala and turmeric and boil well. Add the sultanas and boil for about 20 minutes. Blend the cornflour with a little water and add, heating until the mixture comes to the boil once more. Spoon into sterilised jars while still hot and seal immediately. Makes about 2 litres.
