Stewed chicken with dumplings

    garlic, crushed

    chicken stock

    self-raising flour

    sugar
  • pinch of salt

    ml
    water
  • 15
    ml
    oil
 

Method

 
Heat oil and brown the chicken. Remove and keep warm. Sauté the onion and garlic until transparent, add chicken stock and simmer for 20 minutes. Sift the dry ingredients together in a large bowl. Slowly add the water and oil, mixing well to form a soft dough. Place dough in a greased bowl. Place palm-sized balls of dough in a saucepan of boiling water. Cover tightly and steam for 25 to 30 minutes.
