2.00 glass mixing bowls, one smaller than the other
ice — cubes
masking tape
fruit

Method:

Step 1. Use large heavy flowers which will sink to the bottom of the water. Use two glass mixing bowls which fit into one another. Spoon ice cubes in the bottom of the larger mixing bowl and place the smaller one on top of the ice, ensuring that the inner bowl is in the centre of the larger bowl. Fasten securely with masking tape and fill the section between the two mixing bowls with ice-cold water.
Step 2. Arrange the fruit, leaves and flowers in the opening between the two glass bowls. Use a fork or testing skewer to press them down. Place in the freezer overnight to freeze.
Step 3. Remove the dishes from the freezer and peel off the masking tape. Pour a little hot water in the top dish to remove it. Place the base of the bottom dish in hot water until the ice has melted just enough for you to remove the ice dish. (Do not use boiling water, as the dishes will crack.) Return the ice dish to the freezer until needed.
