Steamed broccoli with Oriental dressing

  • 500
    g
    broccoli, broken into florets
  • toasted sunflower seeds
  • DRESSING
  • 100
    ml
    olive oil
  • 10
    ml
    sesame oil
  • 45
    ml
    mirin (Japanese rice wine vinegar) or white wine vinegar
  • 2
    cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2
    ml
    chopped fresh ginger
  • milled black pepper to taste
 

Method

 
DRESSING: Mix all ingredients together. Steam broccoli over boiling water for about 6 minutes, or until just tender but still firm and bright green in colour. Place broccoli in a serving dish and, while still hot, pour over dressing. Sprinkle toasted sunflower seeds over and serve immediately, as a light meal with crusty bread or as a side dish.
