Strawberry and pineapple punch

    g
    strawberries
  • 1
    pineapple, skinned
  • 125
    ml
    sugar
  • 500
    ml
    white wine such as riesling
  • 250
    ml
    pineapple juice
  • 750
    ml
    dry (brut) sparkling wine, chilled
 

Method

 
Wash the strawberries and quarter or halve. Cut the pineapple into fairly small pieces. Mix the sugar, white wine and pineapple juice and pour over the fruit. Cover and chill for five hours. Add the sparkling wine just before serving and mix gently.
