    ml
    milk
  • 300
    ml
    mealie meal
  • 5
    ml
    salt
  • 50
    ml
    margarine, melted
  • 4
    eggs, separated
 

Method

 
Preheat the oven to 180 ºC (350 ºF). Grease a deep 24 cm ovenproof dish with margarine. Bring the milk to the boil. Remove from the heat and gradually stir in the mealie meal. Stir until smooth. Return to the heat and simmer until the mixture has thickened, stirring occasionally. Add the salt and melted margarine. Remove from the heat and cool until luke warm. Whisk the egg yolks and fold into the mixture. Whisk the egg whites until stiff and fold into the mixture. Turn into the prepared dish and bake for about 35-40 minutes or until done. Serve hot with butter. Serves 4-6.
