Spiral pizza bread

    ml
    cake flour
  • 5
    ml
    salt
  • 7
    g
    instant yeast
  • 180
    ml
    milk
  • 60
    ml
    butter
  • 15
    ml
    sugar
  • 1
    egg, slightly beaten
  • 75
    ml
    chopped fresh parsley or chives
  • FILLING
  • 70

    tomato paste
  • 250
    ml
    grated Cheddar cheese
  • 2
    cloves garlic, crushed
  • 30
    ml
    chopped origanum
  • melted butter for brushing
 

Method

 
1. Sift flour, salt and yeast together. 2. Heat milk, butter and sugar until butter has melted (it must be lukewarm). 3. Add beaten eggs and herbs. 4. Add to flour mixture using dough hook on lowest speed for 1 to 2 minutes to form a dough. Add more lukewarm water if necessary. 5. Knead for another 2 to 3 minutes on second speed until elastic. 6. Allow to rest for 10 minutes. Knock the dough down and roll into a rectangle. 7. Spread tomato paste over and sprinkle with remaining ingredients. 8. Roll like a Swiss roll and place in a greased 20 x 10 cm loaf tin. 9. Brush with butter and allow to rise until doubled in size. 10. Bake at 180 ºC for approximately 35 minutes. It should sound hollow when tapped with the knuckles. Brush the upper crust with butter.
