Spicy wedges

Ingredients

  • vegetable oil for frying
  • 2
    kg
    potatoes, washed
  • 50
    ml
    castor sugar
  • 25
    ml
    salt
  • 5
    ml
    paprika
  • 1
    ml
    chilli powder
 

Method

15 minutes
 
1. Heat the oil to 190 ºC, or until a chip dropped into the oil floats and is surrounded by bubbles. Cut the potatoes into large wedges, then cover with a damp tea towel. 2. Place potato wedges in wire basket and fry for 10 to 15 minutes until soft inside. Remove, drain on paper and sprinkle with remaining ingredients. Serve hot as a tasty snack.
