Ingredients (10)

butter
1.00 onion — large, chopped
1.00 apples — cored, diced
2.00 cabbage — red, shredded
2.00 bay leaves
4.00 cloves — whole
125.00 ml wine — semi-sweet
stock cube — meat
125.00 ml water — boiled
sea salt and freshly ground black pepper

Method:

Melt a little butter in a heavy-based saucepan. Sauté the onions until soft and translucent. Add the apple and brown. Add the cabbage and stir-fry until glassy.
Add the rest of the ingredients, lower the heat and simmer until the cabbage is tender but still crisp. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Serve hot.
Serves 4-6 people.
