Ingredients (17)

200.00 g savoury soya mince
2.00 potatoes — large, peeled and cubed
1.00 onion — finely chopped
2.00 carrots — peeled and diced
500.00 ml cabbage — shredded
350.00 g beef mince
sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
15.00 ml Worcestershire sauce
15.00 ml tomato sauce
5.00 ml fresh thyme
CRUST
250.00 ml flour — self-raising
5.00 ml Baking powder
3.00 ml sugar
2.00 ml salt
125.00 ml oil
125.00 ml Buttermilk
1.00 eggs — extra-large

Method:

Preheat the oven to 180 ºC (350 ºF). Spray a 20 x 22 cm ovenproof dish with non-stick vegetable spray.
Mix the soya mince with 4 x 250 ml (4 c) boiling water, add the potatoes and simmer until cooked and tender.
Sauté the onion, carrot and cabbage in a little oil. Add to the soya mince and mix lightly.
Fry the mince in the same pan until cooked and lightly browned and season with salt and pepper to taste. Add the Worcestershire and tomato sauce and season with thyme. Mix with the soya mixture. Turn into the prepared oven dish.
Mix all ingredients for the crust and pour over the mince mixture. Bake for 30 minutes or until cooked and golden brown on top.
Serve with stewed fruit and beetroot salad if desired. Serves 6-8.
