Ingredients (11)

10.00 ml garlic — cloves, crushed
5.00 ml turmeric
10.00 ml masala — roasted
15.00 ml curry powder — mild
10.00 ml salt
60.00 ml sugar
1.00 lemon — juice only
1.50 kg lamb chops — leg
3.00 onion — sliced
5.00 cloves
5.00 bay leaves

Method:

1. Mix the garlic, turmeric, masala,
curry powder, salt, sugar and the
lemon juice to form a paste. Rub
into the meat, then leave to marinate
in the fridge for two or three hours,
or overnight.

2. Fry the onions, cloves and bay
leaves in a deep saucepan. Once
the mixture is sizzling, add the
marinated meat, then cover with
a tight-fitting lid and cook for
an hour, stirring occasionally
? approximately every 15 minutes.
Do not add any water. Serve with
mashed potatoes, yellow rice and
vegetables.
