    crushed garlic

    turmeric

    roasted masala

    mild curry powder

    salt

    juice of 1 lemon
  • 1.50
    kg
    leg of lamb chops
  • 3
    onions, sliced
  • 5
    cloves
  • 5
    bay leaves
 

Method

1. Mix the garlic, turmeric, masala, curry powder, salt, sugar and the lemon juice to form a paste. Rub into the meat, then leave to marinate in the fridge for two or three hours, or overnight.

2. Fry the onions, cloves and bay leaves in a deep saucepan. Once the mixture is sizzling, add the marinated meat, then cover with a tight-fitting lid and cook for an hour, stirring occasionally ? approximately every 15 minutes. Do not add any water. Serve with mashed potatoes, yellow rice and vegetables.
