Somtam salad

  • 250
    ml
    coarsely grated cabbage or carrot (or green pawpaw or mango)
  • 2
    tomatoes, diced
  • 1
    lemon (with skin) finely diced
  • 2
    small chillies, seeded and finely chopped
  • 30
    ml
    oyster sauce
  • 7
    ml
    sugar
  • 1
    large clove garlic, crushed
  • 125
    ml
    peanuts, finely chopped
 

Method

 
Mix the cabbage, tomato and lemon in a mixing bowl. Add the chillies and mix. Blend the oyster sauce, sugar and garlic, stirring until the sugar has dissolved. Pour over the salad. Sprinkle the peanuts on top and serve. Serves 2.
