    g
    Marie biscuits, crushed
  • 2
    bananas, sliced and sprinkled with lemon juice
  • 90
    ml
    custard powder
  • 100
    ml
    sugar
  • 750
    ml
    milk
  • cherries for decoration
 

Method

 
Arrange the Marie biscuits on the base of a pie dish. Top with bananas. Blend the custard powder and sugar with a little of the milk to form a smooth paste. Heat the remaining milk. Add the custard paste to the heated milk, reduce heat and simmer slowly until the mixture thickens. Stir continuously. Pour over the Marie biscuits and bananas and decorate with cherries if desired. Serve with cream or ice cream. Serves 4-6.
