Sirloin steaks with tomato garlic sauce

    sirloin steaks, trimmed of fat and beaten with a mallet until thin
  • 8
    large tomatoes, skinned and chopped
  • 3
    cloves garlic, crushed
  • 15
    chopped fresh basil
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • fresh basil or parsley sprigs to garnish


Preheat the grill. Grill the steaks for 8 to 10 minutes, or until cooked to your liking, turning once. Place the tomatoes, garlic, basil and seasoning in a saucepan, and simmer until tomatoes are soft. Transfer the steaks to a heated serving dish and spoon over the sauce. Garnish with sprigs of basil.
