  • 500
    g
    butter
  • 325
    ml
    castor sugar
  • 600
    g
    cake flour
  • 500
    g
    self-raising flour
  • 2
    ml
    salt
 

Method

 
1. Preheat oven to 140 ºC. Grease a baking sheet. 2. Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. 3. Sift together both flours and salt, and add to creamed mixture. 4. Using your fingertips, combine well. Shape into 2 rounds with your hands. Do not roll out. 5. Place on the baking sheet. Pinch the edges with your thumb and forefinger to give a clean finish. 6. Prick all over with a fork. Bake in oven for about 1 hour. 7. Leave to cool, then cut into required shapes.
