    wholewheat flour

    rolled wheat

    sesame seeds

    brown sugar

    ml
    bicarbonate of soda

    buttermilk

    vinegar
  • 75
    ml
    sunflower seeds
 

Method

 
Preheat the oven to 180 ºC (350 ºF). Spray 8 11x7 cm loaf tins with nonstick spray. Sift the cake flour, baking powder and salt together in a mixing bowl. Add the wholewheat flour, rolled wheat, sesame seeds and brown sugar. Dissolve the bicarbonate of soda in the buttermilk and vinegar, and add to the dry ingredients. Mix well. Turn into the loaf tins, smooth the top of the loaves and sprinkle with sunflower seeds. Bake for about 30 minutes or until a testing skewer comes out clean. Remove from oven and cool before removing from tins. Makes 8 small loaves.
