Savoury rice

    onion, finely chopped
  • oil

    uncooked rice
  • 875
    ml
    hot water
  • 1
    chicken stock cube
  • 5
    ml
    turmeric
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper
 

Method

 
Sauté the onion in a little oil until soft. Add the rice and stir-fry until pale brown. Add the water, chicken stock cube and turmeric. Season with salt and pepper and simmer until the rice is done.
