Savoury mince filling

    minced beef
  • 10
    ml
    cooking oil
  • 1
    onion, chopped
  • 1
    sweet red pepper, seeded and cubed
  • 100
    ml
    dry white wine
  • 10
    ml
    tomato paste
  • 10
    ml
    fruit chutney
  • 3
    ml
    dried marjoram
  • 3
    ml
    salt
  • pinch cayenne pepper
  • freshly ground black pepper to taste
 

Method

 
Fry meat in heated cooking oil in a heavy-based saucepan until it turns colour. Add onion and red peppers and sauté until onion is translucent. Heat remaining ingredients together and add to meat. Cover with lid, reduce heat and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes. Serve with Beer vetkoek (see recipe).
