Sausage and lentils

Ingredients

    g
    brown lentils
  • 50
    g
    bacon, chopped
  • 1
    small onion, chopped
  • 2
    cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2
    sticks celery, sliced
  • 12
    prunes, soaked
  • 8
    pork or beef sausages
 

Method

30 minutes
 
Soak the lentils for 1 hour. Fry the bacon until the fat runs. Add the onion, garlic and celery and cook until soft. Add the drained lentils and prunes cover with water and simmer for 25 minutes until tender, adding water if necessary. Season, to taste. Prick the sausages and grill or fry, then serve immediately on a bed of lentils.
