Saucy tomato sauce

    olive oil
  • 1
    onion, chopped
  • 1
    small chilli, chopped
  • 1
    clove garlic, crushed
  • 410
    g
    tomatoes, chopped
  • 5
    ml
    sugar
  • 15
    ml
    fresh origanum, stripped from stalks
  • 125
    g
    cherry tomatoes
  • 80
    g
    salami, sliced
  • 15
    ml
    balsamic vinegar
  • penne pasta, cooked and drained
 

Method

10 minutes
 
1. Heat oil in a large pan and fry onion, chilli and garlic for two minutes. 2. Add canned tomatoes, sugar, origanum and seasoning to taste and simmer for five minutes. Add cherry tomatoes and salami and simmer for a further two minutes. 3. Stir in balsamic vinegar and pour over cooked and drained penne pasta.
