Satay sauce

    oil

    shallot, finely chopped
  • 1
    garlic clove, crushed
  • 300
    ml
    coconut milk
  • 60
    ml
    peanut butter
  • 15
    ml
    honey
  • 5
    ml
    ground cumin (jeera)
  • 2
    ml
    chilli powder
  • 30
    ml
    dark soya sauce
 

Method

 
Heat the oil and stir-fry the shallot and garlic until tender.
Add the remaining ingredients and mix well.
Simmer for 3 to 4 minutes or until the sauce is slightly thickened.
Chill until needed.
