  • 750
    ml
    red wine
  • 500
    ml
    orange juice
  • 125
    ml
    brandy (or 50 ml (1/5 c) Cointreau)
  • 1
    rind of half an orange
  • 65
    ml
    sugar
 

Method

 
Mix the wine, orange juice and brandy or Cointreau. Place the orange rind and sugar in a dish, add the red wine mixture and mix with a hand blender until the sugar has dissolved. Chill for about 15 minutes. Strain to remove the rind and chill until needed. Serve well-chilled. Serves 6-8.
